Between the ages 21-25, adults are coming into their own. Another thing that they are frequently coming into is a bar. Generally near a college. Many of these college bars are staples to a student's social development in those formidable years of life. Fashion is paramount. Looking good means feeling good, and feeling good means confidence to introduce yourself to a stranger or bust out that new dance move you’ve been thinking about.
Luckily for you, there is College Bar Tee Club, a membership service that delivers t-shirts to individuals across America on a monthly basis. This takes the work out of looking and feeling fresh. Our clothing is stylish and affordable, and our service is convenient for people of all ages. In our first month, our clothing showcased bars from Indiana, New York, and Ohio. In this month’s blog, we will highlight some nostalgic bars across NJ, PA, and DE since these are the areas we got our start! (Note - These bars are not guaranteed to be on shirts... Just recommendations based on what we’ve heard.)
The Firkin Tavern (Ewing, NJ) - If you go to / went to Rider University, The College of New Jersey, Princeton University, or any other schools nearby, chances are you’ve been here. The bar shows sports, provides bar games and offers free Wi-Fi to patrons.
Slocum’s Bowl-O-Drome (Trenton, NJ) - Half bowling alley, half bar. Open until 2 AM seven nights per week. This bar is a mix of locals and college co-eds who want to celebrate for any occasion. Great for birthday parties, dates, and making new friends.
Landmark Americana Tap & Grill (Locations in Glassboro, NJ, West Chester PA, and two in Philadelphia, PA) - If you go to college in NJ or Philadelphia, chances are you’ve heard of this epic restaurant/bar. Their University City (PA) location has Karaoke on Mondays and Trivia on Tuesdays. This bar is located near Drexel, St. Joe’s, and the other Universities in urban Philadelphia.
Draught Horse (Philadelphia, PA) -If you go to Temple University or know anybody who does, you’ve probably been here, and it probably was a heck of a night.
The Deer Park Tavern (Newark, DE) - This (University of Delaware) college bar has over 25 beers on tap ranging from Shock Top and Yards to Victory and Yuengling. This tavern has been a landmark in Newark, DE, since 1851. Legend has it that Edgar Allen Poe once attending this historic establishment.
